H1N1 Swine Flu Influenza Virus

The h1n1 virus, is rarely found in humans. It is more common in pigs and can be transmitted to
humans via close contact. Farmers and handlers of livestock would be more prone to getting sicknened with the virus
as it is transmitted via close contact, through the air. If you believe you have come in close contact with someone
who may have been infected with the swine flu virus, contact your doctor immediately.

Generally, if you have been infected with the virus, you may experience flu symptoms such as fever, coughing,
chills, fever, muscle aches and fatigue.

You cannot contract the h5n1 influenza virus by eating pork, or pork products. No evidence supports this claim.
The virus is transmitted through close, airborne contact. It is not transmitted through livestock found on store

Always wash you hands with soap, and avoind contact with anyone suspected of being infected with the virus. If
you have travelled abroad, especially to mexico where the virus is rampant and quickly mutating, see your doctor
right away if you experience any flu-like symptoms.

Mexico has been hit the hardest from the virus. Airlines are cutting back trips to mexico as demand ceases. If
you do have to travel to mexico, use extra caution. Wear a face mask in areas known to have the virus and be sure
to always wash your hands with soap and water.
H1N1 Flu Treatment
A common treatment to date for the H1N1 flu virus is through the anti-viral medications Tamiflu (also known as
oseltamivir) and Relenza (also known as zanamivir). The center for disease control recommends these treatments to
be taken within a few days of experience the swine flu symptoms. Consult your doctor to get tested.
